All Japan Budogu

Our workshop’s branded kendo armor is crafted entirely by hand, from the traditional machine stitching to the finest details, carrying on over 80 years of craftsmanship and tradition.

It has earned a reputation as trusted armor used by competitors at the All Japan Championships, members of the police force, and many other practitioners. Many of the great kendo players of the past also used this equipment.

Each piece is tailored by veteran craftsmen at the Japan Kendo Equipment Workshop. Using the workshop’s highest level of technical skill, this brand is regarded as one of the finest made-in-Japan kendo armor lines and is recognized as a traditional craft product.

Please note that made-to-order mune (chest protectors) and custom-designed mune require additional production time before shipment. Thank you for your understanding.

Men (Helmet) Specifications
IBB duralumin mengane, fukuro-nui stitching, L-shaped decorative stitching, naname sashi stitched men-dare, 2 cm angled cut on the men-dare, aizome deer leather on the chin and edges, 4.5 mm × 4 mm stitch pitch, antibacterial inner lining material.

Kote (Gloves) Specifications
4.5 mm × 4 mm stitch pitch padding, fully woven-stitched kote head, traditional armor-style shape, two-tier decoration, with namako padding, brown synthetic leather palm, woven-stitched fabric padding.

Do (Chest Armor) Specifications
50-piece resin do-dai (junior size uses a flat resin do-dai), Japanese-made core material, hand-stitched mune, hand-applied decorative detailing.

Tare (Waist Protector) Specifications
4.5 mm × 4 mm stitch pitch, aizome deer leather cloud-pattern trim, five-tier decoration, tapered cord ends, aizome deer leather edging/corners/binding leather, diagonal-style belt and side panels on the o-dare.
