Acceptable for daily practice, but....

The daitos we received were extremely dry and needed many, many layers of oil. It was good that it did not have a synthetic varnish, as this made the job a little easier. The workmanship is certainly nowhere near Japanese standards. Overall, it is barely acceptable. Do the pre-use maintenance to help it last a bit longer.
After-sales service is one of the best, though!

It looks excellent.
Feels well in the hand.
Haven't had a chance to use it yet (it's for Kendo Kata 8-10 anyway), but overall I think it's a great value for money.
